Emergency Services Mobile Communication Programme – update

Published:
03 September, 2014

Suppliers have until 31 October (17 October for Lot 1) to submit their bids.

On Friday 8 August 2014 the Invitation to Tender for the provision of the Emergency Services Network was formally issued to the successful companies selected through the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire process.

The release of Invitation to Tender represents a major milestone in the Emergency Services Mobile Communication Programme, which will replace the Firelink Resilient Communications System, its Police and Ambulance equivalents and provide a resilient, mobile broadband data capability.

A number of high profile suppliers have been selected to bid for each of the four Lots. A Bidders’ Conference was held on 20 August to familiarise suppliers with the format of the Invitation to Tender documentation, and to provide an overview of the three Emergency Services’ use of critical voice and mobile broadband data in the context of responding to incidents.

Suppliers now have until 31 October 2014 to complete their response (17 October for Lot 1). Once responses have been received, representatives from the Emergency Services, along with subject matter experts, will evaluate the bidders’ submissions against a set of pre-determined criteria. The announcement of successful bidders is expected in the Summer of 2015.
