Testing support

Aeroflex has enhanced the testing support provided by its highly successful 6413A UMTS basestation test system to support testing of basestations using an Inverse Multiplexed ATM (IMA) configuration. IMA is a method of combining multiple E1/T1 connections to increase backhaul bandwidth between the basestation (Node B) and Radio Network Controller (RNC). The IMA test support is available as standard on all new Aeroflex 6413A UMTS basestation test systems and as an upgrade to existing systems.

Supporting WiMAX

Aeroflex has launched IQCreatorTM version 8.3 with significant new features to support the rapidly growing WiMAX 802.16 standard for Wireless Metropolitan Area Networks. The new version of IQCreator also adds support for CDMA2000 1xEvDO rev A uplink capabilities. It is available free-of-charge from Aeroflex on the company’s web site. Other enhancements included in IQCreator 8.3 are user-defined shift keying, multi-carrier update, user modulation update and a 3030 series signal generator packager to allow sample rates between 33 MHz and 44 MHz.
