i2 To Launch Neighbourhood Policing Solution
Visual analysis software supplier, i2, is launching its unique solution to assist with neighbourhood policing at the Home Office sponsored National Crime Mapping Conference in London on the 9th and 10th May.
The ability to store and share community intelligence and develop problem-oriented, partnership-driven solutions to issues of local crime and disorder is key to the success of neighbourhood policing.
The first comprehensive solution of its kind, i2’s Neighbourhood Policing Solution addresses the needs of police forces, helping to create dynamic, living Neighbourhood Profiles meeting the needs of all members of the neighbourhood policing teams, from the Chief Constable to the PCSO.
Managers may need to obtain an overview of a number of neighbourhoods to view performance statistics, spot emerging signal crimes and disorders and quickly create reports.
PCs and PCSOs need a rapid, efficient way of being able to brief themselves on the current situation in their neighbourhood, so they can spend more time on the streets, visibly patrolling their communities.
Paul Holroyd, i2’s general manager, said: ”The Neighbourhood Policing Solution is unique in that it allows those in command to ensure the neighbourhood they are responsible for is getting the best they can from their police service.
“Using the i2 Neighbourhood Policing Solution, allows managers to deploy resources effectively and efficiently based on incident reports and community priorities.
“This, in turn, ensures officers are out patrolling the streets, gathering intelligence and offering reassurance to the local community, which in turn helps to lower the fear of crime.”
