The Microbus Integrated Digital Video Recorder (iDVR) solution for the M-PC2 In-vehicle computer allows the user to record video, and to review and save incidents in MPEG2 format for evidence packs. The use of a dedicated video encoder for this system means that existing applications can run unaltered. Both the recording and playback of incidents can be done simply through the computer’s colour touchscreen without the need for separate back office software.

Incidents can be logged simply via the computer's colour touchscreen and up to a full shift of DVD quality video stored and reviewed with timestamps that can be moved backwards and forwards in 5 minute, 1 minute or 10 second steps. A unique "Car too close" feature enables easy assessment that a vehicle was within 0.5 seconds of the vehicle in front. Recorded incidents may be stored to local disk, Flash drive, external hard drive or DVD. Microbus offers a USB power managed CD/DVD writer which is connected to the M-PC2 computer to provide the facility to burn disks in the vehicle.

Because the Microbus iDVR system is contained within the M-PC2 computer, this single unit solution saves valuable space within the vehicle and uses minimal power from the battery.
