The Business Continuity Expo and Conference held in March, finished on a resounding high, according to the organizers, with both visitors and exhibitors vowing to return again next year, due to the volume of business that was done over the two day period. Around 2,500 top level executives and business continuity specialists visited the event from every business sector from local government to the forces, pharmaceutical to finance, telecoms to aerospace.

The Conference which runs alongside the exhibition also attracted a wide range of high level delegates and speakers drawn not only from the UK but also across Europe. The panel discussions were particularly well attended, to hear speakers such as Patrick Mercer – Former Shadow Minister for Homeland Security, Richard Kemp – Director of Security, LifeSafety and Business Continuity – Canary Wharf Group and Bruce Mann – Director of Civil Contingency at the Cabinet Office all contributing to very lively and thought provoking debates.

Commenting on the event, Anna Campagnoli, Exhibition Manager, Business Continuity Expo, said, “It is clear from the success of this event, that Business Continuity is no longer on the periphery of businesses and it is now a subject for the board’s attention and an issue that every business is now getting to grips with. We were delighted to see such a large number of quality, experienced and focused visitors, which is what made the event. We also received excellent feedback from the delegates who had flown in from across Europe who all felt that the conference provided first class input into the way the market is developing, presented by the best BC specialists in the industry.”

Next year’s event will take place from 2nd to 3rd April 2008 at London’s Excel.
