Cambridgeshire Constabulary Goes Live on NSPIS Custody and Case Preparation Systems in Collaboration
SunGard has announced that the Cambridgeshire Constabulary has gone live on NSPIS Custody and Case Preparation systems, which are supplied by SunGard Vivista and managed by the Police Information Technology Organisation (PITO). The systems help reduce the administrative burden on the police by linking to other systems and preventing double keying.
John Neil, director of operational services at PITO, said: “We are very pleased that Cambridgeshire Constabulary has gone live with the NSPIS systems. The NSPIS systems can help the force realise benefits through more efficient working and less paperwork when processing a person through custody.“
DS Julian Eales, director of intelligence, added: ”The go-live at Cambridge has been remarkably smooth. I put this down to close working relationships between police staff, SunGard Vivista and PITO. Thanks to the hard work of many people, we have managed to overcome any implementation issues and keep to our planned go live dates.“
The current roll-out of NSPIS Custody and Case Preparation to the English and Welsh police forces is seen as a major step forward in the way that police forces are modernising their business processes. SunGard Vivista has been working with PITO and the police forces to implement a programme of change management and business process re-engineering.
