Primetech was awarded the contract to provide the British Transport Police (BTP) with the IT infrastructure for its latest mobile Command and Control Unit (CCU).

The first of two CCU's to be commissioned; it will provide a tactical Silver Command solution and ensure preparedness for all civil  contingencies throughout the South East of England. The two vehicles will be deployed at large scale public events and will form a key part of the plans for the Olympic Games in 2012. As the technology provider, Primetech operated in conjunction with Kinetic Special Vehicles and a team from BTP comprising of Central Operations Unit, Vehicle Fleet Management Department, IT and Communications Departments. "We have worked hand in hand with Primetech and Kinetic Special Vehicles to develop a bespoke solution that has met all our tactical, strategic and technological requirements within available budgets," commented Graham Tillett, Fleet Manager. "We are extremely proud of our new mobile CCU which will enable us to better serve the railway community and improve public and industry confidence in our work."
