Major challenges for 2007
We at BAPCO hope you find the new format of our Journal stimulating and interesting. The front cover is an obvious change but the style inside the Journal together with the articles covering all communication aspects of the Emergency Services business together with technical solutions should prompt debate. This would be an exciting development and will allow members to express opinions and expert advice which will prove invaluable in providing the vital service our public demand and expect. Your views on this new style will be important to the editorial staff and I know they will appreciate feedback from you.
We can expect major challenges in 2007 for all three Emergency Services. The rate of change within the respective organisations will continue and probably increase. A critical issue will be reduced funding with increased responsibilities. All three Emergency Services will be asking how they can maximise technology to increase impact on the business with potential savings to maintain service delivery. The relationship between The Business and Suppliers becomes ever more important and to ensure success there needs to Partnership agreements and understanding. The BAPCO Exhibition and Conference always provides the opportunity for discussion and debate and I am certain that the April 2007 event will be no different.
Real challenges face us all and I wish you all success in 2007.
