New DMR two-way radios join the digital race
Hytera, China’s number one communications company, has recently launched its new digital product offering in Europe.
According to Chen Qingzhou, President and Founder of Hytera Communications Co., Ltd, “Hytera’s strength lies in its ability to offer cost-effective products, adapted to each customer’s specific budget. The new digital products will bring numerous benefits to end-users and we are one of only two companies to promote, innovate, manufacture and customise DMR solutions. As DMR is a fully public open standard backed by a wide variety of vendors, end-users can be assured of continuity of supply. Technologies which are incorporated into open standards encourage wide ranging supplier participation and are more likely to succeed. Ultimately, this provides more choice for users, more rapid product development and lower prices. We are extremely proud to be able to contribute to the development of DMR; the most widely adopted digital two-way radio system, which is already in active use in over 100 countries throughout the world today.”
The newly launched DMR product portfolio includes digital mobile radios, covert radio, powerful digital portable radios and digital repeaters. The complete Hytera line is currently being rolled out in the European market.

Among the range is Hytera’s PD785 which features a voice activated intercom system that allows firefighters to freely communicate, while keeping their hands free. Large accessible buttons provided on the device enable immediate distress signalling. As firefighters operate in a dispatch environment and need a network that can provide up-to-date incident status, the device’s data applications are vital and give first responders access to critical data about an incident while ‘en route’. Ruggedized, water-resistant and explosion-proof, the PD785 will perform even under wet or challenging conditions.
