Details and invitation to upcoming BAPCO Event for the South West & South Wales region looking at 'Promoting Integrated ICT for Civil Contingency Responders'

Dear Member,

Interoperability – A common operating picture for responders.

The next event organised on your behalf by the regional committee focuses on the increasingly important matter of interoperability within and between the range of organisations responding to civil emergency situations. With our colleagues from the Multi Agency Interoperability Project we will examine just why the ability to adopt a common operating picture is so high on the agenda and what is being done about it.

Furthermore, and somewhat uniquely, we intend to use the varied BAPCO membership present on the day to participate in the important consultation process about the doctrine and emerging protocols for interoperability.

Of course, all regional BAPCO members are welcome, but I would be particularly pleased to see those of you from the user organisations represented across our region. You are therefore cordially invited to attend this event in order to be briefed on the changing picture of interoperability and to actively participate in shaping its future.

The meeting will be held on 7th July 2009 at the HQ of Avon & Somerset Constabulary, Portishead.  To attend, please post, email or fax a completed return proforma (see below) to the BAPCO Administration Manager (whose address/number is shown on the attched form) by no later than Wednesday 1st July 2009.

Yours sincerely

Peter Prater  Chair  South Western and South Wales Region, BAPCO
