On the buses with TETRA
Teltronic has been awarded with the contract to supply a TETRA NEBULA radio communication system for the urban trunk buses of Bogotá.
The Spanish company has signed an agreement with Transmilenio, the urban transport public operator in this city,in order to settle a radio communications network in the metropolitan area that will cover the transport of 8 million people.
The project will be achieved in two parts:Teltronic´s technology will serve an average of 200 buses in the first step and then to accomplish the whole project until reaching 15,000 buses in total.
The bus network which was using the AVL application supplied by the Spanish company ETRA and was based on analogue radio networks will be replaced by the new NEBULA system that will implement voice and data communications as well as slow video. This co-operation with ETRA sets up a new generation of the AVL system of high performance for transport market.
