Selex Communications has received connection approval from Airwave for the PUMA T3 TETRA family of handsets, enabling them to provide integrated, secure and reliable communications for the Fire Service, Police and other Emergency Services connected to the UK Airwave network.

The Puma T3 family of handsets has been designed for use in both normal operating environments and also potentially explosive environments, using a version approved to international ATEX standards Commenting, Dave Pring, Sales Manager, says, “We are confident that our Puma T3 family offers a significant enhancement to the range of options available to the user community. This is reflected by the incorporation of a multi-slot data capability and our system being the only ATEX-approved (Intrinsically Safe) terminal currently available on Airwave. Puma T3It is widely used by Emergency Services and professional users around the world and can be supplied with the full range of ATEX accessories.”
