Scyron, a security and surveillance services company, has announced that it has appointed Peter Cain as its chief technology officer.

Cain joins Scyron with the remit to expand the company’s software engineering and R&D capability and support its strategic push into intelligent networked video surveillance/CCTV for the public sector (particularly law enforcement agencies) as well as the commercial security sector.

This is part of the company’s strategy to address the emerging market for intelligent, networked video surveillance, estimated to be worth $1.7 billion worldwide by 2012.

Scyron plans to grow its engineering team from five to about 30 during the next three years.

Cain joins Scyron from Dyson Technology and brings a wealth of relevant industry experience gained in video, software and wireless technologies.
