Introduction to Civil Protection
The Emergency Planning College runs a course on: The Introduction to Civil Protection aimed at those who need an introduction to the multi-agency approach to Integrated Emergency Management in the context of the CC Act 2004.
Aim: To provide a foundation in current civil protection arrangements in the United Kingdom

Objectives: By the end of this event you will be able to:
Explain the concept of Integrated Emergency Management
Describe the main duties under the Civil Contingencies Act (CCA) and its associated regulations.
Identify the Category 1 and 2 responders and describe their role and those of other key agencies, in emergency planning and response.
Outline the significant aspects of Central, Regional and Local planning and response arrangements.
Describe the main considerations in relation to risk management, emergency planning, business continuity management and recovery.
Progression: This is our most popular course. It is the gateway to more in-depth study on specific aspects of civil protection and our courses in business continuity, risk management, emergency management and planning.
