A bespoke set of tools created by ATDI Ltd is helping MLL Telecom Ltd maintain its position as the UK’s largest independent provider in wireless backhaul.

MLL Telecom is a long-standing user of ATDI’s flagship planning and modelling tool, ICS Telecom, and has now taken a new package of software tools to allow it to better assess and plan its wireless based transmission networks.

Leading ATDI’s work with MLL Telecom is principal radiocommunications engineer Nick Kirkman. He comments: “It has always been part of ATDI’s operating philosophy that we are flexible and can find custom solutions for all our customer’s needs. The set of tools we have created for MLL Telecom are specific to their requirements, and it is always gratifying when we can extend our relationship in this manner.”

The solution, developed to MLL Telecom’s own specification, is a line of sight calculator that checks the line of sight quality from an imported set of data against a database of thousands of existing sites. The output is a database of potential line of sight wireless links with typical equipment parameters.
