Activa Solutions

Voice recording has always been of a mandatory requirement for public safety organisations for evidential and verification purposes. Following a surge in the importance of the quality of the service provided to the community by the public sector and related guidelines, voice recording has now become as important for assessing the quality of interaction with non-emergency call centres. Activa has already implemented quality monitoring software fully integrated with the voice recording platform in many of the UK’s Police operations for helping with quality auditing, training and on-going skills improvement for control room and call centre operators.

Activa Solutions recently showcased, at BAPCO 2005, a new range of call recording solutions manufactured in the UK in partnership with CyberTech, a global telecom technology company.

First in the UK to install an Airwave recording solution for a Police force in 1999, Activa has now released the latest version of Veritel TETRA, the first TETRA recording solution that tags recorded conversations with data pertaining to the recorded transmissions, enabling fast and accurate conversation replay for verification and incident reconstruction purposes. Veritel TETRA is one of the few recording solutions that has achieved the Motorola Dimetra Certification at Motorola Copenhagen and is compatible with other major TETRA systems, for instance, Nokia and implementations such as O2 Airwave.

Specifically designed for public safety organisations, the Veritel Incident Replay software is an intuitive and easy to use application for rapid and accurate incident reconstruction from different audio sources (TETRA, PBX, etc.) as captured by the Veritel recorder. Veritel Incident Replay provides a clear overview of how teams operate, helping to improve their interaction.

Veritel recorders are built using open-system technology and commercial-off-the-shelf servers, which means that they integrate with any existing infrastructure and customers can even use their existing storage and archiving devices, if desired.

Grampian Police, amongst other Forces, is implementing the Veritel solution as part of its Airwave service implementation.

In the UK, more than 130 emergency services and public safety organisations, including City of London Police, Jersey Police, TENYAS, Devon Doctors on Call and North Yorkshire Police, rely on Activa’s solutions for recording their communications traffic and gaining fast and precise access to critical information for incident reconstruction, liability, compliancy and quality monitoring.

Additional features to complement Activa’s voice recording offering for public safety organisations are:

Word spotting technology, specifically developed for the security and surveillance market, for highlighting key words or phrases in real time so that immediate action can be taken accordingly.

Quality monitoring tools coupled with automated customer satisfaction surveys, for a full spectrum assessment of the quality of interactions with the community.

Training and coaching solutions for the continuous assessment and skills improvement of control room and contact centre operators.

NICE Systems

NICE Systems offers a range of voice, video, and data recording platforms to meet the varying demands of the Police services, ranging from NiceCall Focus and NiceVision Harmony, for voice and video recording at remote locations or small departments, through to the enterprise level solutions that are NiceLog and NiceVision Pro, for larger scale contact centres, control rooms, custody suites, CCTV, or highways applications.

NICE record more interactions in more countries than any other manufacturer in the world, delivering reliable, dependable, leading edge solutions with integrations for ICCS, CAD, ACD, Telephony, radio etc as well as native recording of data from computer screens, video feeds, Airwave (TETRA), telephony systems, VoIP, etc. along with the associated data, email, chat, SMS, SDS and positioning information from technologies such as AVLS, APLS and mapping systems.

NICE realise that this information is valuable and provide an equally impressive list of resiliency, redundancy and fall back options for the systems, ensuring your NICE system meets your needs, no matter what!

Evidence is at the heart of any records system. Maintaining that evidence for when it is needed is both time consuming and an expensive undertaking, NICE’s Storage Centre product is at the heart of NICE’s solution offering automated evidence storage, retention and resiliency of data, so that it is available, online, all the time. Storage Centre offers integration with any standard NAS solution or integration with the markets leading NAS and SAN such as IBM (Tivoli) and EMC_ (Synterra) enabling communications data to be stored in the safest and most effective place – online.

NICE solutions offer cost effective storage online removing the need for expensive archive media and the manpower to administrate and replay from it, all in all saving valuable time, resource and ongoing costs.

With NICE’ s powerful communications reconstruction tool, finding the communications you need is as simple as sorting emails. The graphical interface enables the visualisation of an incident (who said what, when and to who) and to quickly filter down to the information required.

Citizen Focus offers a real life challenge to police forces to prove the services they offer meet citizen expectation, government standards, and show responsiveness and improvement year on year.

The key to achieving this is the same one at the heart of most Police systems – proof. Implementing a quality management solution provides benefits of automation, centralised collection of data, reporting, targeted monitoring, coaching, management information, all of which will pave the way for what may already be a excellent contact centre and command and control / dispatch function for the proof and evidence needed to benchmark the organisation and make targeted improvements where required.

NICE’s Perform quality management solution is not only the market leading product available, but NICE ensure all of the infrastructure, training and professional services to make the system deliver real results.

Last Message Replay is an application designed to support real-time operations within the control centre, enabling users to replay recent messages over and over, changing speed and volume to enable extraction of vital information from the communication. Use as a primary or fallback system LMR represents value to call takers, dispatchers, supervisors and operational managers for personal calls or those of their team.

The NICE Systems portfolio of multimedia logging platforms, monitoring applications and review / output tools make NICE systems ideally suited for just about all areas of communications recording.

Video feeds from interview rooms, custody suites and security cameras can all be recorded and stored online, providing interactive correlation to events and image content for fast review and replay of critical events.

NICE Systems advanced storage and communications technology means video data can be stored and transferred to enable total evidence correlation from the original digital recordings.

Red Box Recorders understand the specific requirements of Public Safety communications professionals and specialises in highly resilient, mission-critical recording solutions. Many Public Safety users are mandated to record for legal compliance and evidential records and for these users reliability and resilience are paramount. The company has a strong heritage in developing mission-critical systems with installations in some of the most high profile police, transport and government institutions.

Red Box Recorders has developed an innovative approach to call recording, with a powerful, non-proprietary software engine that delivers maximum flexibility and customisability for all customers.
