In any kind of mission scenario, a jam-resistant, tap-proof radio link is as important as lightweight equipment. Rohde & Schwarz has therefore expanded its R&S M3TR family of tactical radios by adding a small and light handheld radio. Despite its compact size, the R&S MR3000P has all the features required of a tactical radio by offering reliable connections, even in topographically difficult terrain, and by allowing flexible integration into tactical networks. The R&S MR3000P covers a frequency range from 25 MHz to 144 MHz.
Due to its jam-resistant digital waveform, the R&S MR3000P provides high-quality connections. Moreover, its transmit power of up to 5 watts allows high ranges, even in difficult terrain. Since the handheld radio is interoperable with other radios of the R&S M3TR family, it can be easily integrated into tactical networks with R&S M3TR fixed and vehicle installations.
Its compact design and low weight are advantageous for infantry forces. The expanded frequency range of the handheld radio covers not only tactical VHF but also parts of the HF and VHF aeronautical radio range, enabling plain ground-to-air communications, for example, and thus eliminating the need for additional radios.
For tactical applications an integrated crypto module of the highest security level provides protection for confidential messages. For military users, the tap-proof transmission of messages is indispensable.
The R&S MR3000P tactical handheld radio is now available from Rohde & Schwarz.
