SunGard has announced that it has merged its UK Public Sector Solutions business, formerly a part of Chertsey-based SunGard Sherwood Systems, with its Chippenham-based Vivista business unit.

The move is aimed at increasing the focus on customer solutions and services

In August 2006, SunGard announced the formation of a new global Public Sector group to include SunGard Vivista, SunGard Bi-Tech, SunGard HTE and SunGard Pentamation. The four business units continue to operate autonomously but the reorganisation was intended to improve collaboration among them in order to help better address the needs of public sector customers, including central, regional and local government, K-12 school districts and public safety agencies.
