Northrop Grumman Wins $2.63 billion IT project for US Department of Homeland Security headquarters
The project will install a campus-wide IT infrastructure for secure communications and operations at the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) St. Elizabeth’s headquarters in Washington.
Work will be conducted over a five-year base period with a two-year option and an additional three-year option period for a total potential value of $2.63 billion.
Northrop Grumman will design, install, test, operate and maintain a seamless, integrated and secure IT solution throughout the DHS consolidated headquarters.
The company will provide a top-level security and information platform for the department to execute its homeland security missions, including interfacing with the departments' cyber security resources.
"Northrop Grumman has been a leading IT systems provider to the DHS since its inception in 2003, and our team brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this task order as a leading provider of IT solutions to the federal government," said Linda A. Mills, corporate vice president and president of Northrop Grumman's Information Systems sector. "We will partner with the General Services Administration and DHS to achieve enterprise efficiency in full life-cycle support of IT access to applications, systems and services for a secure and efficient enterprise IT network that has important implications to national security."
As part of the task order, Northrop Grumman will provide IT equipment, connectivity and operations and maintenance support; physical security and access control for the campus and buildings; voice, video and data telecommunications, including wireless; smart building and green management systems; and overall program and subcontractor management.
"The Department of Homeland Security has a vital role in protecting America's cyber assets and working collaboratively with public, private and international entities to secure the cyberspace domain," Mills added. "Northrop Grumman will leverage its broad expertise to bring the St. Elizabeths campus and the department world-class cyber security capabilities that will effectively enhance the security of the U.S. critical infrastructure."
Work on the task order will be conducted in Washington, D.C., and at Northrop Grumman locations in the national capital region.
