Two leading Professional Mobile Radio vendors join the growing Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) Association to promote affordable, interoperable and innovative digital radio solutions.

The Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) Association has welcomed two new members; Shenzhen HYT Science & Technology Co., Ltd (China) and Team Simoco (UK) to the group which represents businesses, organisations and individuals supporting the European Telecommunications Standards Institute's (ETSI) Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) standard.

The decision of HYT, China's largest Professional Mobile Radio manufacturer, to choose DMR is testament to the technology's growing appeal in Asia - the world's fastest-growing PMR market - and underlines the market demand for powerful, genuine-interoperable, multi-vendor solutions.

Team Simoco, one of the world's leading radio communications specialists, also sees DMR as a crucial digital technology driver and a key enabler for the progressive replacement of analogue radio networks in commercial markets.

HYT and Team Simoco membership of the DMR Association underpins the position of DMR as the leading international digital radio standard available in professional markets, in terms of value to the vendor and user, and market share.

"It is with great pleasure that we welcome HYT and Team Simoco as new members of the DMR Association. Their decision to join our ranks is further testament to the growing worldwide market appeal of DMR technology. With over 400,000 DMR radios already shipped, I am confident that the present success will soon be followed by others and that our Association will keep on growing stronger" said Mario Micheli (of SELEX Communications - a Finmeccanica Company, Italy), DMR Association Chair. "Our goal is to reinforce DMR's position as the most widely supported 21st century digital radio standard for business and a growing membership helps us do that."

In addition to recruiting new members, the Association is concentrating on removing barriers to interoperability by establishing best practices for testing and validation of the DMR standard.
