Radio Telecom Services Ltd has announced their appointment as sole distributor for a new rescue communications helmet range.

Designed to be fully IP67/68 compliant and using contactor microphone technology, these helmets are light weight to reduce neck stress, totally waterproof and configurable to any portable radio device. Unsurpassed voice clarity, rugged, quick fit connectors and easy operation make these the ideal solution for Surf Recue, Search and Rescue, Coast Guard, Fire, Police Forces, Ambulance Services and even Extreme sports.

According to Radio Telecom Services, a leading Incident Commander at the recent Cumbria Floods commented:

"We used the RTS Maskot Water Rescue Helmets during the Cockermouth floods and found them to be particularly effective. The helmet, contactor mic and earpiece PTT combination is ideal for noisy and swift water environments allowing a hands-free operation whilst actually in the water.

"I personally used one of the helmets whilst on a recce mission above Cockermouth in a RAF Sea King helicopter, the conditions were appalling and I was able to transmit to the ground and receive incoming radio traffic despite the high level of background noise. The contactor mic enabled the ground crews to hear me without any background noise interfering with the transmission"

The product will be on show at Bapco 2010 London in April.
