New operational intelligence solution for fire crews
Innogistic has announced the launch of its new Operational Intelligence Solution to provide Site Specific Risk Information (SSRI) to operational fire crews.
SSRI is vital information detailing potential hazards and risks contained within specific buildings (e.g. hazardous substances or construction materials) which could be faced by fire crews whilst tackling an incident. The provision of SSRI has gained a high profile as a result of Health & Safety Executive recommendations made following several recent incidents where firefighters have tragically died.
Innogistic's new solution has been designed in close co-operation with UK Fire and Rescue Services, ten of which have already implemented the new software on an early-adopter basis. The new Operational Intelligence module is also fully compliant with the CFOA and CLG guidance on the provision of SSRI, issued last year. This will allow the information to be delivered directly to mobile terminals in fire appliances as well as to the new Regional Control Centres.
Innogistic is well known for its CFRMIS Fire Safety solution which has become the de facto standard for Technical and Community Fire Safety (TFS/CFS) management and has now been implemented by 60% of the UK's Fire and Rescue Services.
Andy Carter, Innogistic's Emergency Services Business Manager, said; "The main requirement of this initial system is to deliver structured risk information to operational officers and crew directly to the appliances. It will also have the potential to deliver the same SSRI data to the Regional Control Centres when they go live. Our early adopters are already telling us that the new Operational Intelligence module and the data it produces are precisely what is required for these purposes; however we do not intend to rest on our laurels and are already working with our customers to further develop and improve the solution."
