Joining Airwave made easy
Airwave is hosting a series of seminars to help organisations through the complex process of gaining authority to use the service.
Emergency response organisations have to be approved by Ofcom and hold a special ‘TEA2’ license in order to use Airwave. The process is necessary to protect the security and integrity of the Airwave service, which was designed specifically for public safety organisations, providing the highest levels of coverage, security, resilience and flexibility.
Representatives from Ofcom, the CSIA and the National Policing Improvement Agency will attend the seminars to help delegates to understand what’s involved in achieving approval to use Airwave. Organisations which have public safety responsibilities such as local authorities and strategic health authorities are being invited to attend.
Airwave serves the police, fire and ambulance services of England, Scotland and Wales, as well as some 300 other public safety organisations. It’s one of the largest and most complex communications services of its kind in the world, giving public safety organisations unparalleled ability to communicate effectively.
