The Emergency Planning Society Annual Conference and Exhibition 2008

Published:
26 March, 2008

Wide-area flooding is now considered to be in the ‘premier league’ of risks the UK and Ireland currently face and, in the future, such events are likely to become more commonplace and severe. With this in mind, turning a blind eye to Climate Change will only create greater challenges in the future.

Climate Change is acknowledged as one of the major Risk and Environment Management challenges for all organisations in future years. To effectively manage this challenge requires a partnership approach involving policy makers and practitioners from a variety of disciplines, across all sectors.

Conference delegates will learn from speakers involved at the frontline of Climate Change in a variety of fields:

• How the science of climate prediction becomes policy;
• What the implications are when planning business response;
• How Climate Change and response is viewed by the media;
• Importance of leadership and Corporate Governance in planning response.

The event takes place in Torquay, June 16-17, 2008.
