As part of a continuing effort to improve communications with the membership and provide enhanced membership benefits the Publisher of the BAPCO Journal, Hemming Information Services, in consultation with the BAPCO Executive Committee, has introduced a number of new initiatives to improve the service the Association magazine offers its members.

These initiatives and the relaunched BAPCO Journal website now enables the Association and the information and communications technology industry to reach a wider audience and helps to promote the Association's good work around the world. Timely and accurate communication is the essence of good, modern, business practice and many members have indicated their appreciation of the delivery of information electronically.  Therefore, the Executive Committee of the Association  and the BAPCO Journal publishers have decided to introduce a new electronic newsletter that will be sent out on alternative months to the hard copy BAPCO Journal, with the latter now to be published bimonthly.

"The electronic version of the BAPCO Journal will mean that we can reach a global audience cost-effectively whilst a bimonthly publication will enable us to produce a larger, more comprehensive magazine that will better represent the many developments taking place in the market,” said Hemming Information Services publisher Graham Bond.

Welcoming this latest initiative, Ray Trotter, the BAPCO President, said “As an Association promoting the use of information and communications technology for effective service delivery it is right and proper that we should harness the strength and flexibility that modern and emerging technologies provide for the benefit of the membership and to promote the sharing of information and good practice. The introduction of an electronic Newsletter will enable the Officers of the Association to provide timely updates and promote two way dialogue with the membership.”

BAPCO Journal welcomes new Editor Jose Sanchez de Muniain, who brings a wealth of emergency response experience from Fire & Rescue magazine and Industrial Fire Journal. “I look forward to working with BAPCO members so please do get in touch with ideas, stories and case studies.” Jose can be contacted on j.sanchez@hgluk.com, tel 01935 816030.

Andy Mitchell has joined the magazine on the advertising sales side, and he can be contacted on a.mitchell@hgluk.com, tel 020 7973 4769.
