New communication software set to safeguard the nation from disaster
An emergency communications agency has announced the launch of a new piece of software, which will help protect the people of Britain in the event of disasters and incidents, as well as provide an efficient communications service for large-scale organisations.
The new iModus platform has been developed by Vocal; one of Britain’s most well-known messaging companies, for a range of organisations including local authorities, emergency services, NHS trusts, and at global events such as the Royal International Air Tattoo.
Vocal developed the iModus system in order to provide its clients with a tailor-made instant communications solution. The new software is also being used as an effective business continuity tool, allowing users to protect staff, businesses and the wider community from incidents including bomb threats, emergency road closures, fire, flooding, building collapse and gas leaks.
IModus uses SMS text and pagers to issue information and can even deliver messages straight to users’ desktops, without the need for using email. The new software also allows communication to be sent by interactive voice response in a secure environment, supported by 24-hour service centre.
Trevor Wheatley-Perry, Managing Director of Vocal, said: “In today’s world, there are a number of dangers that we all face while we are going about our day-to-day business. The new iModus system, which we have developed in-house, provides a simple method of getting critical information to those who need it in a tailored, fully-integrated way. It is also being used by several of our clients as a unique instant messaging tool to assist with the flow of communication through their existing channels.”
The iModus system is already providing its worth in major cities across the UK including London, Manchester, Nottingham, Bristol and Leeds.
Vocal offers a number of security and business continuity solutions for the business community and are trusted by over 2000 companies, including the emergency services. Established in 1998, Vocal has been the carrier of choice for over 1500 business worldwide. For more information about Vocal log on to www.vocal.uk.com
